Mala Ma'am's Ceramics Studio in Mumbai, India

We are extremely happy and proud of our partnership with Mala Ma'am's ceramics studio in Mumbai, India.

Mala Ma'am is an art teacher and has worked with ceramic arts and crafts for over 45 years. First as an aspiring art student for 6 years at the well-known International Institute of Design and then as a university teacher in the subject for many years.

For the past 12 years, she has in a very admirable way built up a business around her ceramics studio where she arranges workshops and provides vocational training to marginalized young adults from society's most vulnerable areas. After completing her education, she offers work in her studio and there with the opportunity for livelihood and stability for both them and their families.

Our goal is to sponsor Mala Ma'am's workshops through our collaboration and finance all costs related to these training initiatives.

Together with Mala Ma'am and her team, we start on the drawing board and design a small collection at a time, these we then release in a limited edition. All objects are made by hand with a lot of thought, great commitment and with respect for people and nature throughout the process.

With a solid craftsmanship in the base, a soft design language and great detail, our hope is that what we have created will give you a lot of joy and last for many years to come.
